Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Sweeper Rentals collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to Sweeper Rentals, a division of Sweepers Pty Ltd (ABN 51 144 050 751), and to this website at sweeperrentals.com.au. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

By enquiring, requesting a quote or entering into a hire agreement with us, you consent to the handling of your personal information as described here.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote, deliver, service and invoice a machine hire. That includes:

  • Name, business name, position and contact details (phone, email, postal address)
  • Site addresses, access details and site contact names
  • Details of the work — floor area, surface, equipment required, hire dates
  • Payment and credit information, including account details and credit references where credit terms are requested
  • Records of our dealings with you: quotes, agreements, delivery dockets, service records and correspondence
  • Website technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring URLs

How we collect it

Most information comes directly from you — by phone, email, our website enquiry and quote forms, or on a hire agreement. Form submissions are delivered by email to info@sweeperrentals.com.au and copied to the Sweepers Pty Ltd sales address; they are not stored in a website database. We also collect information from your staff on site, from credit reporting bodies where you apply for credit terms, and automatically through our web server logs when you browse this site.

Why we use it

We use personal information to prepare quotes, arrange delivery and collection, service and maintain machines, provide operator training, invoice and collect payment, meet work health and safety obligations, respond to enquiries and complaints, and improve our services. We may contact existing customers about equipment and service relevant to their sites; every such message includes an unsubscribe option.

Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information only where it is necessary to run the business: to transport and delivery contractors, service technicians and operators engaged on your job, our accounting and IT service providers, credit reporting and debt recovery agencies where an account is overdue, insurers and legal advisers, and to government or regulatory bodies where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose it overseas, except where a cloud service provider we use stores data outside Australia, in which case we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

Storage and security

Information is held in our business systems and in reputable cloud services, protected by access controls, passwords and, where appropriate, encryption. Paper records are kept in secured premises. We keep records only as long as we need them for the purpose collected or as required by law — generally seven years for financial and hire records — and destroy or de-identify them after that.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly and to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do. See our Cookie Policy for detail.

Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@sweeperrentals.com.au or calling 1300 387 713. We will respond within a reasonable period, and will explain our reasons if we refuse access as permitted by law.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The current version is always published on this page with the date of last update shown above.
